An ordinary meeting held on September 12, 2017 by the House of Bishops of the Anglican Church of Rwanda, elected Rev. Assiel Musabyimana for Kigeme Diocese in Nyamagabe district.
Rev. Assiel Musabyimana succeeds Rt. Rev. Augustin Nvunabandi, who will hand over the leadership stick on January 1, 2018 at St John’s Cathedral of Kigeme Diocese.
Rev. Musabyimana is a son of the soil, born in 1969 in Nyamagabe District, Kaduha Sector, Musenyi Cell (in Bunyambiriri Archdeaconry, Nkomero Parish.
He studied at Nkomero Primary School and at College St Esprit Nyanza (Former Normal Primaire Nyanza) for his high school studies. He studied at Protestant University of Rwanda for his Diploma studies in Theology, and in Uganda Christian University at Bishop Barham University College for his Bachelor of Theology in Divinity.
He is currently pursuing a Master of Theology and Development.
He is married to Mrs. Valerie Nyirabihimana and blessed with three children; two daughters and a son.
He was ordained priest and ordained deacon respectively on March 1, 1998 and August 12, 2001 at Kigeme.
He is currently manages the parish Investment Fund. In the Diocesan Office he has assumed different responsibilities from 1998 respectively Chaplain of the Bishop, Chaplain of Kigeme Hospital, and Head of Ecumenical Center for Theological Research.
