1.      BACKGROUND OF EAR NKORWE PARISH

 

EAR NKORWE Parish was found in 2/7 /1953 among 56 parishes of EAR Kigeme Diocese, with its main mission “To spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to all people and to contribute to the wellbeing of Rwandan people regarding the Social Economic, Cultural intellectual and health development, and the protection of human rights”. With its 2 chapels (Buremera and Nkorwe), the church building is new and  was named   Saint Andrew  parish on 17/3/2024 by Rt Reverend Assiel MUSABYIMANA and it locates in Nkorwe village, Buremera cell, Maraba Sector, Huye District by 7km from the main road Huye – Nyamagabe, nearest to IBISI BYA HUYE-KIGASARI hill, and it serves more than 1000 attendants’ followers (Participants). The economic activities found in the area are based on subsistence agriculture of coffee, beans, cassava and farming domestic.

By its Rev KANANI Faustin is a parish leader, the partnership with Compassion International started on 9/30/2018 and was amended on 9/30/2019 and shall be renewed on 8/25/2022. The program, Center based program was started on 23/10/2019. The 4/4 Project Employees were hired and started their duties accomplishment on 02/09/2019 till now we continue to serve community.

The project has 245 Beneficiaries that classified into 8-11 age group (114 boys and 131 girls) and they have 242 families in a partnership live at Kabuye cell, Buremera cell, Gasumba and Kanyinya cell, and we have 14 caregivers’ association that they meet once a week by saving and credit money and they help each other. They pray twice a month as the assembly of caregivers.

We still have many homeless people that we do not get job, house and food, etc but, we continue to do an advocacy and to ask for them a funds that shall help to initiate small business. We are here to help them live regally in peace in the family and to ask for them the funds what they receive in sustainable development with one heart in Jesus Christ.
